MARUTHI CELERIO AUTOMATIC SHIFT IN FIRST TIME IN HATCHBACK


 Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been receiving an overwhelming response from car buyers across the nation. The vehicle has registered an over 14,000 bookings withing 2 weeks from launch- making it 1000 units a day. Its AMT version accounts for around 51 per cent of total bookings. Maruti Celerio comes as a replacement for the A-Star and Estilo hatchbacks in India.
The Celerio with AMT returns an impressive mileage of 23.1kmpl. Under the hood, the hatchback gets the 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine that develops 67bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. As far as appearance is concerned, Celerio seems to be a completely different territory when compared to its predecessors A-star and Estilo. Based on the A-Wind concept which was displayed at the Thailand Motor Show, the hatch gets an eye catching design. Overall, design language of the Celerio is a tall boy design which helps in easy ingress and egress. The front of the car is dressed up with flowing back shaped headlamp cluster, the large headlight unit with separate barrels for the parking light. The headlights come up with good luminance. 

    The larger air dam with horizontal bars merges with the grill; the curvy front facade flaunts the two chrome appliqué strips running along the grill decently. The circular fog lamp housing enhances the overall appearance of the vehicle.Strong muscular line running along the hood blends with the A pillar which gives the vehicle a wider stance and bigger road presence. Short antenna is provided at the front of the vehicle above the front windscreen. At the side, the car looks fairly large as compared to the A-star, owing to the wider doors and greenhouse area. The side crease which runs along from the tail lamp cluster across the C pillar end towards the front fender and imparts a bold character into the vehicle. While the bottom crease add muscles to the car. The newly styled outside rear view mirrors are internally adjustable and boost bright side repeaters. The car is equipped with premium pull type door handles which are found in the premium hatchbacks. The six spoke silver colored alloy wheels in the top end variant look sportier with the flowing type design dressed on 14 inch radials. At the back, the vehicle is similar to A-Star , in terms of tail lamp design.

   The tail lamp in this hatch is larger than its predecessor and also bolder with crease line starting through it. The vehicle sports large windscreen with top mounted bright brake light which in turn helps well while reversing. The rear head strains are integrated which helps in providing wide angle view. The middle crease line also runs along the boot door through the tail lamps. Boot opening latch is similar to that of Swift. The top end variant is provided with rear spoiler having LED brake lights which add sportiness into this curvaceous aerodynamic hatch. According to Maruti, this car is based on Cico styling, which interprets to curve in curve out design.Maruti Celerio gets a dual tone interior design with beige being one of the shades. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets characteristic Suzuki traits and parts that can be found on the other models of the Japanese carmaker.
The company explain its design as XPan Design, which offers spacious cabin to seat five adults comfortably. Its large wheelbase of 2425mm offers spacious cabin with extra headroom, legroom and shoulder room. Moreover, 15 smart utility spaces are available in the hatchback, which allow its passengers to put their small bags like bottles, magazines, phones and others. When compared to A-Star and Estilo, this hatchback offer more upmarket and better quality interiors. Its seats have better cushioning and offers comfortable seating to passengers.
